SilvaChar is a British Columbia-based environmental company that transforms forestry waste into high-quality biochar, a carbon-rich soil amendment that improves soil health, water retention, nutrient efficiency, and long-term carbon storage.
By creating value from forest byproducts, SilvaChar helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, supports healthier soils, and contributes to a circular economy focused on both environmental and economic benefits.
The Project
For SilvaChar, I designed and developed a custom landing page that transforms a highly technical subject into an engaging and easy-to-understand digital experience.
My work included logo and branding design, UX/UI design, information architecture, copywriting, custom front-end development, visual content direction, and infographic design.
The page was strategically structured to educate visitors about the benefits of biochar, explain the production process, showcase environmental impact, and encourage early customer sign-ups.
Through clear messaging, custom graphics, and conversion-focused design, the website helps position SilvaChar as an innovative leader in sustainable forestry and carbon-based soil solutions.
Using the carbon hexagon shape for visual inspiration, we integrated it into their logo as well as the shapes for icons on the page.
After the website was created for their initial launch, pre-online store, it was handed off to their in-house team who is now managing it. My design is no longer active on their website.
